Zentra — User Guide

Overview

Zentra helps you stay focused by replacing your home screen with a clean, distraction-free launcher, letting you schedule blocks on apps and websites, track your usage, and even prompt you with mindfulness breaks.

Installation

  • Find "Zentra" on Google Play and install.
  • Launch the app once to begin setup.

Granting Required Permissions

On first run you'll be prompted to enable several system permissions—this is essential for blocking to work correctly:

  • Usage Access: to measure app usage.
  • Notification Access: to suppress notifications during blocks.
  • Accessibility Service: to detect foreground apps & block websites.
  • Draw Over Other Apps: for blocking overlays.
  • Ignore Battery Optimizations: so the service isn't killed in the background.
  • Device Admin (optional): if you choose "Lock device during block".

Activating Zentra

  1. Open Zentra and tap "Set as default launcher."
  2. In your system Home & default apps settings, choose "Zentra."
  3. From now on, pressing Home brings up your new clean home screen.

Home Screen Tour

  • Pixelated Time Widget: shows current time in a minimalist pixel font.
  • App Grid: your installed apps, icon pixelated for focus.
  • Top Apps Widget: quick glance at most-used apps.
  • Pull-down menu / Settings gear: access schedules, analytics, preferences.
